Cleveland, OH: Crocker Park’s recent award by Chain Store Age Magazine as the third best retail center experience in the nation has not gone unnoticed. The lofty distinction continues to make headlines as Crain’s Cleveland Business recently picked up the story.

Managing Editor Scott Suttell wrote an online piece in Crain’s staff blog yesterday, highlighting Chain Store Age’s countdown of the list of top 10 retail center experiences in the United States, as well as owner Bob Stark’s vision for the mixed-use property.

Crocker Park, Stark says, emulates “the tableaux of a European town, the concept goes back to the Roman era — logical grids and here and there some columns or a temple to attract attention.”

“Too many [mixed-use properties] have a faux main street across a horizontal plane. They’re not recreating the magic you find in cities like New York or Chicago,” Stark added.
