Cleveland based developer, Stark Enterprises, alongside partner, Campus Advantage®, yesterday held a groundbreaking ceremony in Gainesville, Florida on the site where the company will open Liv+ Gainesville — a new student housing property, located near the University of Florida. Executives from both Stark Enterprises and Campus Advantage joined Gainesville Mayor Lauren Poe to conduct the ceremonial dig and post-ceremony reception.
“This day represents our foray into development in the state of Florida and we are thrilled to be expanding our Liv+ brand with Campus Advantage here at this well-respected University,” said Ezra Stark, Chief Operating Officer of Stark Enterprises. “Together, we can create the next level of student housing for the University of Florida- Gainesville, as well as a healthy and thriving environment for students to excel from.”
When completed in Fall 2020, Liv+ Gainesville will be a four-story, 279,075 square foot apartment style student housing complex located 4/10 of a mile from inner campus. The property will include a range of room options, from studios to six-bedroom, six-bathroom suites, for a total of 235 units and 618 beds. Property amenities will include a fitness wing (featuring a cardio room, free weight room, and boxing equipment), a mini market with fresh snack and drink options, a coffee bar / lounge, study rooms on each floor to encourage private and small group study sessions, pool, courtyard, and dog park. Each room and rate will also include modern furnishings, trash service, internet, water and sewer. All these improvements and additions will help create the best possible living and community base for students to thrive.
“The student housing industry needs this shift to luxury living to better adapt to the constant changes and demands of the market. We are excited to continually expand and bring our concept to Gainesville,” Stark said.
This is Stark Enterprises’ second Liv+ student housing location partnered with Campus Advantage, with their first location being on the University of Texas- Arlington campus which opened August 2018. Currently in eight states, Stark Enterprises is a real estate development firm with expertise in developing, constructing and managing large scale properties including lifestyle centers, strip centers and luxury residential apartment complexes. This groundbreaking comes off the company’s announcement last month of their movement towards developing one of the largest projects under their portfolio to date, the nuCLEus, located in Cleveland, Ohio. This $300M project will be a much-needed connector of Downtown Cleveland’s major business and entertainment district, and create a hub for activity including shopping, dining and entertainment.
